What is Brevis and what problem does it solve in blockchain infrastructure?
Brevis is a zero-knowledge coprocessor infrastructure that addresses the fundamental limitation of smart contracts being unable to run complex computations on-chain due to cost and scalability constraints. The project processes intensive computations off-chain and delivers cryptographic zero-knowledge proofs that can be verified on-chain at approximately 1/1,000,000th of the original cost. Brevis offers two core products: Pico zkVM, a modular zero-knowledge virtual machine with a glue-and-coprocessor architecture that allows developers to build custom proof systems, and zkCoprocessor, which enables smart contracts to read full historical on-chain data from any blockchain and execute verifiable computations in a trust-free manner.
